Glen Mead Park I has 10 one-bedroom seniors’ apartments, with shared laundry facilities for all residents.

Glen Mead Park II provides 10, one-bedroom seniors’ apartments with in-suite washers and dryers.

Glen Mead Park III features twenty one-bedroom units and a centrally located common kitchen, games area, lounge and patio shared by tenants for social and leisure activities and shared laundry for all residents.

This community is located in a quiet neighbourhood and is conveniently located near downtown and medical services. Tenants living in Glen Mead Park II are responsible for electricity connections. Off street parking is available for all suites. Only Glen Mead Park II tenants are responsible for their own electricity connections.

In a supportive living community you have a personal living space (ranging from a studio to a two bedroom suite) and sharing congregate spaces for meals, leisure and recreation. Meals, weekly housekeeping and recreation are provided and non-medical staff are available 24 hours a day.

Independent living suites are apartment rental accommodations with a bedroom, living area, bathroom and kitchen. Tenants do your own cooking and cleaning. Tenants live independently with no monitoring.

Westwinds Communities has adopted a residency requirement for all new applicants to our affordable housing program including seniors independent living, family community housing and the rental assistance program.

Applicants who have maintained primary residency within the boundary of Foothills County, the County of Vulcan, the MD of Willow Creek north of highway 519, for a period of not less than six consecutive months immediately preceding completion of Westwinds application document are welcome to apply.

Westwinds Communities maintains a Master Wait List which qualified applicants are priority rated. If you are flexible about location and suite then the wait list is shorter.
Rent is based on 30% of the gross household income. Heat, water and garbage removal are included in the rent. There is an additional fee for electricity, parking and affordable laundry facilities are available on site. Tenants are to arrange their own cable, telephone and internet services.

Income is reviewed annually and is calculated using line 150 of the previous year’s Notice of Tax Assessment.

Yes, subject to availability and pre-booking independent living tenants may access some meal and recreation services at the retirement living communities. Fees for service will apply, please call the retirement living community directly to book in advance.

Yes uncovered parking with plug-ins are available for a monthly fee.
You must be 65 to apply for housing. For couples, one person needs to be at least 65 and the other person needs to be at least 60 years of age.
